1940 Bridal is a brand deeply inspired by the enduring love story of Ada and Jim, my grandparents, who celebrated their wedding in August 1940.

Upon discovering their original wedding photographs, hand-painted in delicate hues, my passion for weddings was ignited.
This discovery blossomed into a vision of narrating their timeless romance and vintage charm, sharing it with brides around the world.

1940 Bridal! ​​
I'm Rebecca, the creative force and artisan behind
1940 Bridal, nestled in the heart of Paris.
​
After more than seven years in the fashion, retail, and bridal world, life threw me a curveball: in the summer of 2019, I left London, struggling with severe chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Suddenly, I had the time to look back and reconsider my dreams—the creative side of me that had been on hold for too long.
Stepping away from the day-to-day grind of fashion gave me space to reconnect with the passions that got me started, like those days spent fully immersed in embroidery design during my degree in Manchester. I longed to create pieces that felt deeply personal, to pour my heart and soul into every stitch, bead, and brushstroke.
So, during this period of rest and rediscovery, 1940 Bridal was born. In a way, it became my own form of therapy, giving me fresh goals and a whole new path to pursue. Starting this brand pushed me out of my comfort zone, led me to meet incredible people, and taught me the art of building something from the ground up.
Now, my journey has brought me to Paris, where I’ve watched 1940 Bridal grow into something I never could have imagined. To all the brands that collaborate with me and the brides who trust me to create something magical for their special day—thank you.
